Ocean Gallery- Ocean City, Maryland

Every time I've come to Maryland I stop in Ocean Gallery. It is my favorite part of vacation! Now, I don't know if any of you have ever been to this place- but it is crazy. There are stacks and stacks of posters, framed pictures, prints, EVERYTHING. I love browsing through and figuring out what I want.  There are thousands of different pictures to choose from.

Every year I get one of the same framed pictures- of a Martini Glass with Dancing Olives. I never thought about the artist actually- but every year I NEEDED a new picture. I love collecting them. Well, this year I looked up the Artist. Michael Godard.

Knowing more about the artist makes me love the pictures even more.

He started creating these fun loving pictures to pass the time while his daughter was in a coma. His daughter has since passed, and he now donates money to numerous organizations, including his own fund, the Godard Fund to help raise money for research for the disease his daughter died from. His paintings are loved amoung many celebs and of course- by me!! I had absolutely no idea anything about this artist- and finding out more information really makes me happy that I have been collecting his work.

Of course though, I am collecting the copied prints of his work- because I can't afford $900 for an original painting... but I'll take what I can get!
