GBK Golden Globes Gift Lounge; My Style

It's Day 2 of the GBK Golden Globes Gift Lounge. If you've missed Day 1, check it out here!

Although I got through day 1, after my initial nerves floated away once I got into the swing of things, day 2 still brought on some nerves. Who was I going to meet? Would my hair cooperate with me? How was I going to stand in heels for another 9+ hours? I was a mess! But I put on my big girl pants (along with band aids for my poor feet) and started my day.

New Dress, new tights, and my Jewels For Hope jewels.

Here's my standard selfie shot. I'm loving how perfect this necklace looks with my dress. It was meant to be- my mom made it special for me, not even knowing what color dress I was going to wear. Fate.  So I'm keeping this necklace for myself. But I have to show off some similar ones we create... one of them is inspired by Iron Man's Arc Reactor.

So pretty right? Had to show them off......

Back to the gift lounge....

For some reason, day 2 went by so much faster than day 1! I felt I blinked and it was already 2:00. The highlight of the second day was meeting personal trainer from Biggest Loser, Dolvett. Can we talk about how good looking this man is? I turned into a giggling school girl the second he walked into the room. Obviously I turned neon red and sweaty. Surprise, Surprise.

Yep.

No words for this.

Cheesin like a fool, I'm surprised my eyes were even open. All I know is...... this picture is everything.

Day=made.

On that note.... I will end this post. Because really, we both know, I can't get much better than this photo.

GBK Golden Globes Gift Lounge; The Products

In case you've missed my previous couple of posts on the GBK Golden Globes Gift Lounge... Check them out here! I am on to part 2 of the products round up gifted at GBK's event through The Artisan Group. If you're looking for handmade gifts.. these are the ones to go to!

All the female celebrities went crazy for this tassel necklace! They thought it was so fun and hip. The necklace looked great on everyone who tried it on- it's like the sisterhood of the traveling pants; everyone can wear it!

CAN WE TALK ABOUT THESE CLUTCHES!!!! Yes, I needed all caps for that. These bags are too freakin cute and I felt like they were calling my name the entire event. Marsai Martin from Blackish loved the pink sequins one (I mean, what young lady wouldn't?) - she ran straight towards it at the event.

Can we talk about my obsessions with body butter? This one=amazing. So smooth and creamy, everything about it is perfect. Amirah Vann felt the same way. The instant I said body butter to her she was all about it. Had to come on over from across the table to look at it.

This display was a huge hit! The men loved the black beaded bracelets on the right (Johnny Ortiz kept eye'in them!) and the women loved the tassel necklace. Personally I also love this display. It wasn't over the top and just showcased the jewelry beautifully!

I love the simplicity of these pieces. Even though these (gorgeous) rings are meant to be men's rings... they fit my chubby little stubs and I absolutely adored them! A lot of the female celebs like the rings as well. Zoe Bell also loved these rings, but didn't have a manicure so she didn't feel comfortable taking a photo with them.

All I wanted was to steal this beard balm for my boyfriend. The men lovedddd it (they also thought this display rocked)! Even the GBK workers came up and kept looking at this display. All the men kept coming back and looking at it, haha it was cute! Big hit!

These cuff links were a big success. Everyone loved the design on them and the men seemed to flock to them. Mark Ballas loved them! I personally loved that it was a matching design for the woman's necklace and men's cufflinks. Great work!

Always a favorite at these gift lounges! Soapy Bliss's cupcake soap was such a hit. And everyone lovveeeddd the bathtub display. Whenever anyone stopped by the table they would ask what is that amazing smell..... it was these bundles of joy. Seriously, one of my favorite products!

Amazing stuff right? I'm telling you... if you have any gifts you need to get in the future - check these shops out. Everything is handcrafted with the best quality and is just oh so pretty. I kept telling all the celebs how lucky they are to get all these products!

I swear, one day, I'll have the expendable money to buy all the items in one of these gift bags - so I can have a TAG bag all to myself.... *one day* haha. Until then, I'll just continue to write about these great products.

If you head over to all these shops and buy some of the products- tell me! I wanna know how amazing they are and live vicariously through you. I promissse you will not be disappointed!

GBK Golden Globes Gift Lounge; The Products

GBK's Golden Globes Gift Lounge had some AMAZING products gifted by The Artisan Group (TAG).  I am going to need a full post (or two) just on the products... so enough of me rambling on. Let's begin...

Allison Holker from So You Think You Can Dance absolutely loved this stationery. She thought it was beautiful and was instantly drawn to it. The clean display with these letterpress notecards on it got a ton of attention - rightfully so!

Okay, horrible picture, I'm sorry. But despite my lack of photography skills, this dog tag was a showstopper at this event. Everyone who has a dog knows the love of our furry friends. Most of the celebrities thought this tag was adorable. When I told them that they received a special tag in their goodie bag, they went nuts. Some celebs said they may have to get a dog now because of how cute this tag is.

This display was a HUGE hit with both the male and female celebs. I'm so mad at myself-- I didn't get the full display photo. There should be a money clip right next to the necklaces. Since it had money with it, we didn't want to leave it out overnight in the hotel (don't worry Heidi- if you're reading this-- your money was kept safe :)). Dolvett Quince (celebrity trainer from Biggest Loser....and possibly the sexiest man I've ever met) absolutely LOVED Heidi's money clip. He said he has a thing for money clips and it instantly caught his eye. Since I don't have a photo of it.. I guess you'll just have to click the link to Heidi's shop and check it out.

No one could believe this was soap. They thought it was so pretty they were in awe. They loved the glitter accents in it. Some of the celebs even said they would use it as decorative pieces in their bathroom rather than actually use it- they loved the shape of it!

This stunning piece of photography got a lot of attention! The bright happy colors of it really came through in person- again, I'm sorry for my shotty photography! We spoke with celebs about how this is also a local artist (to them... LA Based) and they really loved that. I think it made them feel more connected to the artist. It was sweet.

Two words.... Show Stopper. This display definitely was a hit. From the necklace to the cuff -everything was noticed by the celebrities (and press). This necklace alone took the artist roughly 40 hours to complete- once we let the celebs know this their jaws dropped. They said they can believe it since it is so beautiful. I know that giving them some background on the design made them appreciate it even more. Truly stunning work.

These soaps are so cool. I feel like at least half of the celebrities came over just had to pick them up and give them a whiff. I wish you could come through the screen and smell them, because seriously- they smelled sooooo good! We had the best smelling table and everyone came around told us that.

This chain link bracelet was a gigantic hit with the men at this event. Lawrence Zarian, style expert, was obsessed with this. When he walked over to the table it was like his eyes narrowed in on it and he immediately asked me to help him put it on. And let me tell you- it looked fantastic on him! Like it was made for him.

This set is just stunning. The intricate beadwork of the necklace is beautiful. Along with this necklace, these black beaded stretch bracelets definitely got the attention of actor Johnny Ortiz. He loved them so much he actually walked away from our table wearing one of them!

Fantastic products right? Well, that's only half of what was displayed! Take your time going through these shops- you'll find tons more goodies that I know you'll love. Stay tuned for the next half of the display products- you won't want to miss them!

GBK Golden Globes Gift Lounge; Day 1

Day 1 of the GBK Golden Globes Gift Lounge

I'm nervous.

No matter how many times I do this, I still get jittery and turn into a bundle of nerves. I can't help it. I am who I am. I have come to terms that I get nervous talking to people I don't know. Either way, I was ready to start the day and promote TAG to the many celebrities and press I was about to meet.

I had on my new Pinup Girl Clothing dress (which I have been waiting to wear specifically for this event) and my Jewels For Hope jewelry. I was ready to go.

I felt I looked good. For being a wreck on the inside, I was very pleased with how I looked on the outside (not to toot my own horn).

Onto the W Hotel....

We get there and it's already a buzz of excitement. People running around getting ready - tons of photographers, cameramen, and sponsors all waiting patiently for the celebrities' arrival.

As they go through the event, each celeb has to stop by the GBK wall to take a photo

So you know Valerie and I had to do the same....

Don't we look just like the celebs, haha. I made our photographer angle down, as to not see my double chin. Yes, I know how to work the camera.

The day finally gets going... by the end of day one we have about 45 celebrities and members of the press come through. Busy busy.

I will say about 85% of the people who come through the lounge already know about The Artisan Group. Many of them exclaimed "My favorite booth!" or "this is the best bag we get". It always makes me heart swell hearing such sweet words.

We had products ranging from bath and body items, fine art photography, shave oil, jewelry, dog collars, clutches, and much more! Everything displayed was handcrafted to perfection.

Some of my personal favorite celebrity moments from day 1:

Dule Hill
Dule Hill by Gage Skidmore.jpg
Dule was so sweet! My mom and dad are a little bit obsessed with the show Psych. Even though it is off the air, they STILL talk about it. I felt like this show was always on in my house- so you know I had to tell Dule. He was such a sweet man,and his smile lit up the whole room.

Lawrence Zarian
Style expert Lawrence Zarian walked up to me and said how beautiful I was. I was very taken aback and of course, started blushing instantly. Throughout the whole time I was going through my bullet points about the display he kept saying it. At the end he waved his hand up and down and said "Beautiful. Really, I love how you put everything together".  Yep..... Me. Stevie, the girl who was written up during an internship in college not for poor performance, but for "inappropriate hair", has style expert saying I put everything together nicely. I must be growing up.

Gilles Marini

Gilles Marini. Wooo... wear can I begin. I absolutely love him in Devious Maids. He came up to the table with his wife and they were both the absolute sweetest.... and I'm not just saying that because he told me he loved my hair (Two men in one day.... If only I got compliments like this all the time!) When I told him he was getting a bag of goodies from us.. his response was priceless. "Holy Shit Balls, really?".... Yes. That is what he said. He was so touched we were giving him these goodies- and the fact that he was just being real with his response to it made me love him even more. Especially since I tend to have a trucker mouth- it made me feel right at home with him.

If I could, I could write more and more about this event... and don't get me wrong, there will be many more posts...but you are going to have to wait for them. Still wondering about the products these celebs received? I know you must be busting at the seams to see what was gifted......I guess you'll just have to come back and see what the next post brings!

GBK Golden Globes Gift Lounge; Set Up

The GBK Golden Globes Gift Lounge was one of my first events I ever participated in with The Artisan Group, many (many) years ago. I was lucky enough to be able to head back to La La land for this years Golden Globes Gift Lounge.

Not familiar with gift lounges? They are a ton of work so much fun! Everything about it actually makes me happy. I love being in such a fast paced environment, making everything look perfect, and putting my game face on while schmoozing with the celebs. Basically, the celebrities walk through the event with a "handler" and go from booth to booth getting tons of products and taking photos with each item- giving that brand the opportunity to use their face for their marketing materials and promotions.

The Artisan Group (TAG) has been doing these events since 2011. This was my 3rd time representing the TAG Team and the quality of work showcased never ceases to amaze me. But before getting to the products... we have to get to through set up day.

I woke up at 2:00 AM  to leave my house for 3:00 AM... east coast time. For any of you that know me... I am not a morning person. My flight was for 6:00 AM and I was scheduled to get in at 9:30 AM pacific time. I can't believe I was even functioning at that point. I am deathly afraid of flying may not be the best flyer. But I did it, landed safely, and waited patiently to meet up with Valerie, the head of TAG.

We get together and leave LAX. Make our way through Hollywood to the W Hotel. Woo.. Let me tell you... fancy schmancy.

This place is absolutely beautiful! We got to the hotel and the most important thing gets taken care of first....brunch.

That was the only photo I took of that. After my 6 AM flight, that was really the only thing I wanted.

After mimosas (which were phenomenal BTW), we went upstairs to start set up. It's so fun to see the before and after pictures of the space.

Just the basics. Table, risers, and backdrop. We were in a room with a couple other sponsors (I can't believe I didn't get pictures. I'm sorry!).

Setup takes about 2-3 hours. We have to individually unwrap each display piece (17 at this particular event) and arrange them to make sure everything looks perfect.

Table=completed!

Here is the before pic of the hallway where the event takes places. On either side are all of the rooms that have the sponsors in them. For this event I think there were 38 different sponsors.

Nothin' much to see here right? Well.... take a look at this.....

Beautiful, right!

And no GBK event is complete without their stunning cake celebrating the event.

Doesn't that just make you want to take a big bite? I know I was dreaming of it haha.

The W Hotel has the perfect ambiance for this event.... walking up to this beautiful gift lounge is a red carpet- just asking for celebrities to walk the halls...

After setup was completed, we headed down to the hotel lobby and got some much needed beverages.... setup really makes me very parched.

After one (or two) more drinks, we headed back to our apartment. Unfortunately, since I am 1- a 90 year old woman stuck in a 29 year old's body and 2- still on east coast time, I was exhausted. Valerie plans a "TAG" group dinner every event and this one was at 7 PM. I went and was falling asleep at the table. I had been up from 2AM east coast time.. so really it was like 10PM to me. I uber'd home about 3 minutes into the dinner and went to bed.

Getting a good night's sleep was essential. Onto Day 1.......

you'll have to come back for more! You'll get to see all the goodies TAG had on the table!
