Consumer Press Event

Last month I was lucky enough to represent The Artisan Group at a Consumer Press Gifting Event. I was there representing a ton of amazing hand crafted products from some of the talented members of TAG. I was there schmoozing and talking with many members of the press about bath and body products, jewelry, handmade cards, everything.

If you want to see some really great handcrafted items check out TAG's pintrest page, showing at least 1 product from every member of The Artisan Group!

At this event I met some awesome reporters, radio hosts, and editors. One of the radio hosts of Sirius XM Radio, Meredith Ochs, loved my heart necklace so much she was so excited to get one from the gifting. She just sent us an email last week of her rocking our Swarovski Crystal Heart Pendant while taking a selfie with Bill Nye The Science Guy!

Isn't that so cool? The heart really pops on Meredith! I thought this photo was so cute- so happy Meredith sent it along!

I would have never thought I would ever say Bill Nye The Science Guy in the same sentence as Jewels For Hope haha. You never know what will happen in life. I love getting surprises from connections made from talking with people about Jewels For Hope.

Celebs Love Jewels For Hope

I was scrolling through our site the other day and was just in awe at all the celebs we actually have showing off our jewels. It amazes me every day how much both myself and my mother have accomplished. I am so incredibly proud of my mom; she has been the best mentor and business partner any person could ask for.

So, now of course I have to brag a bit about the celebs. Thanks to The Artisan Group we have learned so much and have had the opportunity to get our products in the hands of these amazing actors and actresses. Some of the celebs we have on our site we actually met ourselves, and my mom had the balls guts to go up to them and talk to them about Jewels For Hope.

Tim Daly

Sarah Rafferty From Suits
(We actually talked and she grew up around the corner from where I live right now in CT!)

Meredith Vieria

Stacy London

Jennifer Love Hewitt

I am so incredibly proud of what we accomplished, I had to brag a bit. When I started working for Jewels For Hope 3-4 years ago, I would have never thought that we would ever get this far. It's like my baby, I love what I do and couldn't wish for anything more.

Do you love what you do? Or am I just crazy for loving my job so much? haha.

'Tis The Season

I can't believe it's the end of November already! Where did the time go?

We've been busy creating some special holiday pieces, the perfect bit of bling to give to that special lady in your life (or a little treat for yourself. I tend to buy myself the most Christmas gifts haha)

We are a little bit obsessed with our Snow Flake Earrings.

Don't those look like Snow Flakes!

Made with Swarovski Crystals they are the perfect added touch this holiday season!

This is my kind of snow flake. The kind that doesn't mean I have to shovel - and makes me feel pretty. If only this was the only snow we would have this holiday season!

Jewels For Hope was on BONES on FOX

I am so happy to announce that our Swarovski Pearl Necklace was shown on Bones on Fox this past week!

My mother has been watching Bones from the very beginning and has seen every episode. When we found out about a month ago our necklace was to be on it- my mom screamed like a little girl! We were both just so excited about it! Our jewels on television! That's huge! We wanted to keep it quiet until we actually saw it on the screen. Now, we're shouting it from the rooftops! Check it out!

Above are obviously much better shots from my friends ipad haha. Since I don't have an ipad, you can see my crappy cell phone shot of my TV as I was watching it- showing the actress standing with David Boreanaz (such a cutie!).

Isn't that so cool!

We sold a bunch of these necklaces last night at the event we did! I'm still in shock that our necklace was actually on the show! Are you a bones fan? Did you see the necklace on the show? Let me know if you did!

Women's Night Event

Tonight Jewels For Hope has a Women's Night event at our local Italian Center- a ladies shopping event for everyone to get ready for the upcoming holiday season!

We're putting a lot of new items out at the event and I'm excited to showcase them! We love doing events like these. Meeting new people, selling jewelry, all around having a good time.

The last event we did we actually met a woman who works for a local school in our area and we ended up selling a ton of bracelets to her for her to resell to raise money for the school. Win/Win for both parties.

Here are a couple of new items we're going to be showing off. What do ya think?

Wish us luck!!!!!!

#Scandal Fans, Check out #KhandiAlexander wearing Jewels For Hope

Now, I know Scandal is a huge show - my sister, friends, co-workers, everyone in my life is obsessed with it. I am embarrassed to say I have never seen an episode. I love Shonda and her shows, but I haven't gotten into the Scandal scene just yet (even with everyone in my family pressuring me to do so).

So, even with me not being a Scandal-fanatic, I still love the actors/actresses on it. I was lucky enough last year to meet Khandi Alexander- who plays Kerry Washington's mother on the show! She was the sweetest woman ever and loved our Jewels For Hope bracelet we had on display (at the Oscars Gift Lounge!). She loved it so much she took it off the display and wore it out that day! How awesome is that?

Here is a pic of me and Khandi (please, don't look at me! Bangs are not a good look for me, and since I've lost about 25lbs.)

She loved our Silver Antique Leather Cord Bracelet that donates a portion of the profits to The American Cancer Society.

I might even start watching a few Scandal episodes with my sister just to see Khandi on there. I love it when celebs are so nice and Khandi truly was a sweetheart. The fact that she loved the bracelet so much was icing on the cake.

Are you a Scandal fan? What do you think about Khandi wearing the bracelet? Isn't that exciting! At least for a small business owner for myself it is! I was grinning like an idiot the whole rest of the day after Khandi walked off with my bracelet!

#ThrowBackTuesday @RoseFalcon in @Countryweekly #TBT

A couple months ago we were so excited to see Rose Falcon Atkins having a full page article in Country Weekly Magazine talking about the line we created special for her!

We collaborated with Rose last year after she wore our Glam Bracelet & Pearl Bracelet on the CMA Awards Red Carpet with husband Rodney Atkins!

When we saw the full page spread in Country weekly we jumped for joy! We created this line, The Legends, special for Rose; it donates a portion of the profits to The Young Survival Coalition.

Rose is such a sweetheart, it was great to collaborate with her on this line. We actually got to meet her and Rodney this past year as well! They both are beautiful people, inside and out!

Don't mind my hair in that picture. It was summer, it was hot, and my hair turns into a poodle in that kind of heat. It is what it is. :)

Don't forget, you can get 40% off with the promo code from my previous Pretty Little Liars Post!

Winter #Accessories Perfect for #Holiday #Gifts

Even though I've been away from blogging for some time now, some of you may remember every year I will always talk about my aunt Lori's crocheted items, Hooked on Yarn. This year isn't going to be any different. I love her work and will always talk about it!

She makes tons of cute hats, scarves, fingerless gloves, and my new favorite- headbands!

Aren't these adorable?

Perfect for kids, teens, adults! I personally love anything with a flower on it. These are so cute, and they are perfect for any kind of hair you have. I usually have really big hair, and this tames it a bit-which I love.

Along with her headbands, I also am a little bit obsessed with her fingerless gloves. I rarely ever put the heat on in my car because I hate being hot on my face (I'm weird, I know), so when I'm driving these gloves are the best thing! I don't loose my grip on the wheel and I'm not freezing while driving. Win Win.

Are you looking for crocheted items this holiday season? Definitely check out her shop- I promise you won't be disappointed!

#PrettyLittleLiars Star Wearing Jewels For Hope #PLL #Coupon

Jewels For Hope participated in an amazing opportunity this past Mother's Day with The Artisan Group. We were lucky enough to give some of our Swarovski Crystal Charity Hearts to Celebrity Mother's in a special Mother's Day Gift Basket.

We create these hand woven Swarovski Crystal hearts and donate a portion of the profits to the charity it is color coded to.

Even though I may be pushing 30 in the upcoming years, I still am a huge fan of ABC Family's show Pretty Little Liars. I admit it. I have no shame in loving this show. And now I love it even more that one of the talented actresses posted a gorgeous picture on Instagram wearing our heart!

Tammin Sursok, who plays Jenna on PLL, posted this adorable photo with her daughter! Tammin received our heart that donates a portion of the profits to The Foodbank of Lower Fairfield County.

I screamed like a little girl when I saw this photo. I immediately texted my sisters saying "Jenna has my heart on!" Because of course, I usually refer to actors/actresses as their character names. My sisters, who are both the toughest critics I know, were both pretty excited as well about this; especially since they both also love the show (yes, myself and both younger sisters all watch the show. It's our bonding time.)

Doesn't Tammin look great wearing our heart? Personally, I think this is the perfect gift for the special lady in your life for any holiday/occasion. Made in birthstone colors- it is a personalized gift from the heart.

In honor of Tammin wearing this heart, we would love to give you a coupon code for 40% off of everything on our site for your holiday gifts!

Use code: PLL40 to get 40% off EVERYTHING!

About a million years

It's been roughly a million years since I have last posted. It's unbelievable how quickly time flies. The fact that it's already November, Christmas right around the corner. I'm not prepared.

I've been upset lately that I haven't been posting as much. Over the past year I've been (again) unemployed, looking for new work, constantly promoting Jewels For Hope, and all of a sudden I blinked and now it's the end of the year. I'm lucky enough that I just got a new job- I just started a couple weeks ago... Jewels For Hope has had a tonnnn of great press over the past year, and I now am starting to feel a bit more at ease. So my reward for that- is to start blogging again.

I'm hoping I can actually keep up with this again. I don't know about you, but blogging makes me feel relaxed. Even when I feel I have nothing to say, just writing it all out here makes me feel better. That may sound crazy, but it's the truth.

Now, to get started again. I'll be writing about this past year and hope to let you all know what's been going on (at least the good stuff anyway :) ). I've been so proud of Jewels For Hope that I don't know what to start with first! Stay tuned for more!

Simply Amazing #Fashion #Country #Magazine @FashionandFarm

I am so happy that I came across Fashion and Farm Country Magazine.

For as long as I can remember I have been a fan of country music, fashion, really anything along those lines. Even living in Connecticut, and going to college in NYC, I feel deep down I was meant for country living. Once I found Fashion and Farm Country Magazine I knew it would be something I would instantly love.

I connected with someone at the magazine and fingers crossed, we may be working together in the future. I don't want to spill the beans just yet, but I had to start talking about this great publication now. So you'll just have to keep checking back on the blog until I can tell you!

Now... about this magazine...

I received a gift set in the mail today and let me tell you, this was the BEST packaging I have ever seen. Honestly, I was blown away at this magazine.

The cutest ever! The magazine was wrapped inside this burlap sack with a cute horse on it!!! I have to admit, I was talking out loud to myself while opening this screaming "Oh, How adorable!!"

The issue had a sweet note typed up from the editor - which is just such a personal touch, I loved it.

Along with the magazine came a shirt. Yep, a t-shirt! I will be rocking that from now on. Everything about this set made me smile.

The magazine is full of stunning photos, interviews with musicians, actors, and so much more. I poured over every page.

If you are a country fashion type of gal like me, I HIGHLY recommend this magazine. You won't be sorry!

Remember... keep checking back here for more info on this magazine. I can't wait to share what we are coming up with.... but for now- I'll have to keep you waiting.

Gorgeous @RoseFalcon wearing @JewelsForHopeCT's #Charity #Jewelry #SALE #DISCOUNT

We were lucky enough to get in touch with country music singer/songwriter Rose Falcon. She is an absolute sweetheart, which I have discussed in some of my previous posts.

She just recently took a gorgeous photo wearing our charity jewels inspired by her, The Legends.

Rose looks phenomenal wearing this set. We are so pleased she loves them!!

We are offering them ON SALE right now, with an EXTRA 10% off with code:
HOPE10

Rose has also worn a couple of our other bracelets on the red carpet for the CMA Awards when her and her newly married husband Rodney Atkins walked it this past year.

#GBKpreGlobes with #TheArtisanGroup Day 2

Day 2: Golden Globes Gift Lounge

Day 1 of the gift lounge with The Artisan Group (TAG) went amazingly! It was so fast paced and full of fun- I loved every minute of it and was completely prepared for day 2. I wasn't nearly as afraid this gift lounge, compared to last year. I felt confident and ready to take on the day.

Valerie and I were ready to go once the gift lounge started.

Don't we look pretty!? If I say so myself, I mean :)

I had an amazing day. I met some pretty awesome actors/actresses from my favorite shows. Matthew Moy from 2 Broke Girls was so sweet to me! He gave me two big hugs and was just the nicest guy. I am a sucker for that show so when I saw him walking through the door I got very excited!!

The day was again, a blur. We had to get a celebrity photo with each product on the table. As much fun as the gift lounge was, it was definitely work.

I wish I had a videographer taping me the entire time so I could remember each and every little thing from the gift lounge. My memory is so shot, I will never remember it all.

Some other fun celebs I met?

Rebecca Fields from The Client List.
Rebecca Field Picture

She was SO nice-- told me I was beautiful. Which was so sweet of her to say!! I got all flustered near her bc she was amazing on that show, I loved her on it!

Tamala Jones from Castle.
Tamala Jones Picture

She came up to me and gave me a big hug when I told her I was a big fan! She was stunning! Absolutely stunning. Wearing a gorgeous pair of Louboutins and all bedazzled wearing a lot of jewelry. She loved all the handmade items, and at the end she gave me another big hug goodbye. So sweet!

Omid Abtahi from Argo loved my necklace!

Omid Abtahi Picture
Omid was probably one of the biggest supporters of handmade I met at the gift lounge. He was so utterly impressed with the handcrafted pieces he was in awe. He kept repeatedly thanking me for doing this and for bringing handcrafted items to this gift lounge. He asked me about my necklace I had on and said he absolutely loved it (he was so sweet!!).

GBK really does a great job of having a wide range of celebs go through their gift lounge.

I met so many amazing people, it was a pleasure to be out there representing TAG.

I loved every minute of it.

After the last celebrity left, we packed up the whole display, individually wrapping each display piece to send back to the artist. It took about 1-2 hours to get everything packed up and ready to go. From there, we had dinner and I took the longest bath known to man. It was amazing and the perfect ending to my time in California.

The next morning was a sad one, since of course I didn't want to go back to cold, snowy Connecticut. I wanted to stay in California, and keep having my breakfasts outside like I was enjoying the day of my flight.

Ending my trip with one last bathroom selfie, because really- you need bathroom selfies, especially when you're in a gorgeous LA hotel bathroom.

Thanks for following along on my trip! Hopefully I'll be out there many more times!
